About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a training roadmap designed to provide a comprehensive overview of pharmacy operations. This role focuses on developing your clinical and technical skills in preparation for a future Pharmacist position.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and Key Learning Experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled accurately and safely.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide caring service to patients, field medical questions, and take telephonic prescriptions under supervision.
- Coach and mentor pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
- Manage basic inventory activities, such as cycle counts and medication deliveries.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and professional standards.
- Deliver health services like immunizations and point-of-care testing, including obtaining Technician Immunizer status.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations within the market.

- Location: Pompano Beach, Florida.
- This is a part-time, on-site role with a rolling term.
