About the role#
As a Pharmacy Student Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain practical experience. You will assist with medication preparation, compounding, and inventory management. This role allows you to apply your classroom education to clinical and administrative tasks while supporting the pharmacy team.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and compound sterile and non-sterile IV products.
- Manage medication storage areas and use pharmacy automation systems.
- Perform specialized narcotic distribution and maintain perpetual inventories.
- Complete cycle counts and monitor medication expiration dates.
- Repackage medications into unit doses.
- Inspect medication storage areas in clinical units.
- Perform pharmaceutical calculations independently and accurately.
- Field and triage calls from patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Assist with controlled substances management in compliance with regulations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited College of Pharmacy.
- An active Pharmacist Intern license in Iowa.

- Location: Council Bluffs, Iowa.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Employment type: PRN (as needed).
- Compensation: $18.06 - $25.51 per hour.
