About the role#
As a Finance and Compliance Intern, you will join our consulting practice to help clients resolve business needs within accounting and finance. You will work on diverse teams alongside experienced professionals to solve problems and present solutions. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public sector consulting, internal audit, and compliance testing.
What you'll do#
- Assist public sector clients with navigating financial and capital markets, including long-term capital and operational planning.
- Conduct budget assistance tasks such as revenue and expenditure estimation.
- Perform bond market research and financial modeling.
- Gather and review financial and compliance documentation, including financial statements and policy manuals.
- Conduct basic compliance testing to assess adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and organize workpapers detailing testing samples, results, and initial observations.
- Support engagement execution through data entry, reconciliations, and preliminary analyses.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with senior management and regulators.
- Ability to think critically to solve complex problems and generate practical solutions.
- Potential to begin the pursuit of a CPA, CIA, or other relevant professional credentials.
- Capacity to work effectively both in collaborative team environments and independently.
