About the role#
This is a 10 to 12 week internship based in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area. You will split your time across various plants and departments to connect your academic studies with real-world operations. This position requires regular travel between regional locations.
What you'll do#
- Follow all safety regulations mandated by MSHA, OSHA, and DOT.
- Complete daily safety tasks like area inspections and pre-shift briefings.
- Work alongside Operations staff to learn how to manage capital projects, budgets, and maintenance improvements.
- Gain exposure to mine planning, preventative maintenance programs, and production reporting.
- Spend time with the maintenance crew and briefly train as a ground person or equipment operator.
- Collaborate with the Customer Support and Sales teams to review dispatching, order processing, and product delivery.
- Analyze department financial reports and learn how plant operations impact customers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore or junior pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong computer skills.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to different plant sites.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
