About the role#
We are hiring a Student Nurse Aide to provide care for residents at Oakmont Healthcare and Rehabilitation of Katy. This full-time role offers hands-on experience in long-term care. You will work under supervision to support the nursing staff and help maintain a comfortable environment for residents.
What you'll do#
- Provide personal care such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Assist residents with ambulation and transfers using assistive devices and proper body mechanics.
- Reposition residents regularly and monitor their skin integrity.
- Help with range of motion exercises and reality orientation.
- Support the nursing team with tasks like making beds, passing water, and organizing supplies.
- Answer call lights and report changes in resident conditions to management.
What you'll need#
- Written proof of completion of 16-hour ADL training from an authorized school or instructor.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer literacy and the ability to follow documentation protocols.
- Ability to follow safety policies and procedures.
- Reliability and the ability to work cooperatively in a team.
