About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience within a nonprofit finance team that provides oversight across 18 sites. You will work under the supervision of the AVP of Grants Management to support organizational projects and develop professional skills in finance, operations, and systems management.
What you'll do#
- Compile standard operating procedures, resource materials, and training videos to support the Finance Intranet.
- Create and organize guidance materials, including FAQs and reference documents, for the NetSuite ERP system.
- Draft and organize Standard Operating Procedures for core finance team workflows.
- Manage files, format documents, and maintain the SharePoint site to support team operations.
- Research best practices in nonprofit finance operations and apply findings to internal processes.
- Participate in team meetings and assist with the coordination of working group activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or Public Administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective planning and organizational abilities with a high attention to detail.
Location & details#
- Location: Hybrid. The role is primarily remote, but you must be able to work from the Manhattan office at least 1-2 times per month.
- Term: Fall 2026. The position lasts 3 months, starting in September 2026, with the possibility of extension.
- Hours: 15 to 20 hours per week during standard business hours (9am-5pm EST).
- Compensation: This is a paid internship at $17 per hour.
