About the role#
Copper Run is hiring for a full-time Buy-Side M&A Investment Banking Internship for Summer 2027. This role is based at our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. You will work directly with our deal team to gain exposure to the full lifecycle of M&A engagements. This is a paid, on-site position for currently enrolled college students.
What you'll do#
- Support deal team members as they drive engagements forward.
- Conduct market research to identify acquisition targets and gather contact information.
- Evaluate targets to determine how well they fit a client's acquisition strategy.
- Manage direct outreach through email and mail to start conversations with senior leadership.
- Maintain and update target data within our CRM system.
- Create marketing materials like teasers, pitch decks, and letters.
- Sit in on intro calls, cold calls, and client update meetings to learn professional communication strategies.
What you'll need#
- College-level coursework in finance, accounting, marketing, business administration, or sales.
- Previous work experience where you performed well.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
- A team player mindset with clear written and oral communication skills.
- Curiosity and a commitment to learning.
- Ability to quickly learn company-specific software.
- A minimum GPA of 3.5 is preferred.
- A fundamental understanding of financial statements is a plus.
