About the role#
As a Robotics & Controls Co-op, you will work with the Controls Engineering Manager and technical leads to support the Controls group. You will help improve processes, standards, and tools to increase team efficiency. This position reports to the Senior Director of Controls Engineering.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to 1-5 projects each day.
- Support the electrical and mechanical design teams.
- Assist with PLC, HMI, and robotics program development.
- Perform hands-on assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting of custom automation equipment.
- Collaborate with your project team to find solutions that meet functional goals within budget and timeline constraints.
- Note that this role may require working outside of standard business hours or on weekends based on client needs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a post-secondary engineering program, specifically seeking a pre-grad work term.
- Interest in developing custom industrial robotic automation systems.
- Willingness to learn through various tasks and project challenges.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel within Canada and the United States.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
