About the role#
As a Software Configuration Analyst intern, you will join the Digital Products and Technology team to support the lifecycle of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) software products. You will work alongside subject matter experts to tackle real business challenges within the energy industry. This role focuses on operational improvements, system performance, and the development of applications that support our business needs.
What you'll do#
- Support the design, configuration, testing, validation, and implementation of COTS software products.
- Customize solutions to meet specific business requirements.
- Contribute to routine configuration and maintenance tasks to keep systems secure and efficient.
- Identify and navigate vendor platform constraints while optimizing performance despite technical or licensing limitations.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, including job aids.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related business or engineering field.
- A minimum GPA of 2.7.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A growth mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- A business value-focused mindset.
- Awareness of basic architectural concepts and standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- A basic understanding of software configuration and maintenance.
Location & details#
- This is a Summer 2027 internship based in Jackson, Michigan.
- The role is hybrid, requiring at least 3 days per week in the office.
- This position is paid and full-time.
