About the role#
The Field Operations Intern supports Superintendents and Project Managers with daily field operations. You will work on-site in Greenwich, Connecticut, during the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position that offers hands-on experience with schedule management, site coordination, and quality control.
What you'll do#
- Support the administration of the project safety program and conduct regular safety walks.
- Assist the project team with daily and weekly tasks, including preparing reports and updating project schedules.
- Interpret contract drawings, submittals, and project documentation to provide technical assistance.
- Participate in the quality assurance program by performing site inspections and verifying materials.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure work stays on track.
- Maintain project documentation, including daily logs, RFIs, and submittal tracking.
- Monitor material deliveries and inventory to keep the site running.
- Observe site conditions and report findings that affect the schedule or safety.
- Use construction management software to track and update project data.
- Contribute to short-term planning and attend project team meetings.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
- Basic knowledge of construction safety standards and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- An aptitude for learning construction management software.
- A basic understanding of construction scheduling and critical path method concepts.
- Strong organizational skills for managing documentation and reporting.
