About the role#
This rotational co-op program provides hands-on experience in hospitality and business operations at Plymouth State University. Over the course of the Fall 2026 term, interns work alongside mentors in areas including culinary services, catering, sustainability, human resources, marketing, finance, and operations to build foundational management skills.
What you'll do#
- Hospitality Operations: Learn safety and food safety protocols, train across multiple food service stations, and assist with menu planning, cost control, and sustainability initiatives.
- Catering & Events: Support event setup, menu planning, ordering, and client interaction, participate in Banquet Event Order (BEO) meetings, and gain experience with CaterTrax software.
- Human Resources: Assist in recruitment, onboarding, training, and associate engagement programs, and participate in job fairs and orientation sessions.
- Operations Management: Shadow front-of-house and back-of-house managers, lead pre-service meetings, review operational standards, and assist with scheduling and labor reporting.
- Marketing & Promotions: Conduct marketing audits, plan and promote events, manage social media content, and support meal plan marketing.
- Finance: Complete MyFinance and COGA training, review P&L statements, track KPIs, and present improvement proposals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Hospitality, Business, Culinary, Marketing, or related program.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- An eager, flexible approach to rotating across different departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with hospitality or POS systems is a plus.
- A flexible schedule, as some evening and weekend availability may be required.
