About the role#
The Nurse Intern supports patient care in the Cardiac Med/Surg department. You work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to assist with essential tasks. This role focuses on hands-on learning and collaboration with the healthcare team to provide safe and organized care.
What you'll do#
- Monitor vital signs and assist patients with hygiene and comfort.
- Perform hourly rounding to interact with patients.
- Document tasks and observations clearly and accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment and assist with basic equipment maintenance.
- Communicate changes in patient condition to the care team.
- Uphold customer service standards for patients and their families.
- Develop clinical skills by seeking feedback and guidance from an RN.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
- Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
- Zero to one year of experience in a healthcare setting.
- A CPR certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute.
- A Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the State Department of Public Safety.
