About the role#
Collier Aerospace is seeking students for our Summer 2027 software engineering internship. You will work on our primary software, HyperX, which is a Windows .NET desktop application used for structural analysis and design. This role provides hands-on experience in a collaborative environment where you will be mentored by our software development team. You will apply theoretical concepts to real-world projects across the aerospace industry.
What you'll do#
- Develop new features and improve existing functionality within HyperX using C#.
- Work on projects involving WPF interfaces, 3D graphics, web development, and database tasks.
- Collaborate with software engineers and structural engineers to meet project requirements.
- Write unit and integration tests to verify the accuracy and quality of new capabilities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- US citizenship is required.
- Experience with C# or similar object-oriented languages like Java.
- Familiarity with Git.
- An ability to learn new software applications and processes quickly.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- An interest in the aerospace industry.
