About the role#
The Audiology Extern will support the Medical Affairs department, including Clinical Affairs, Medical Education, and Scientific Communication teams. This role involves a split schedule, with three days per week at the Rocky Mountain Ear Center in Englewood and two days at Cochlear Americas in Lone Tree. You will gain experience in clinical diagnostics, research project management, and product support. The position requires commuting between these two locations.
What you'll do#
- Conduct clinical diagnostic audiologic testing, including pure tone audiometry, speech testing, tympanometry, and electrophysiological assessments.
- Perform clinical evaluations and activations for cochlear implants, hearing aids, and bone-anchored devices.
- Evaluate clinical study files, enter data, and maintain accurate records in database management systems.
- Collect and analyze clinical data to prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Assist with customer clinician support and collaborate with internal departments like marketing and regulatory.
- Prepare proposals and presentations for professional meetings, including literature reviews and methodology development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited 4-year audiology doctoral program.
- Ability to perform comprehensive audiologic evaluations on both adult and pediatric patients.
- Experience with hearing aids and knowledge of cochlear implant and bone-anchored device fitting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal and public communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with patients, physicians, and colleagues.
