About the role#
CMC is hiring a Quality Assurance Intern to join our team in Seguin, Texas. This internship provides hands-on experience in the steel and construction reinforcement industry. You will work on real-world projects, learn industrial engineering technologies, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Perform chemical analysis of steel samples and physical testing of products.
- Conduct product inspections using visual, cutting, grinding, or non-destructive testing methods.
- Verify test results against product specifications and support billet heat traceability.
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend cost-saving opportunities related to process, quality, and safety.
- Support lab standardization and document control activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a Sophomore or higher in a Bachelor's degree program for Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Computer, or Civil Engineering.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications like Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
- Capacity to perform physical job requirements, including lifting 35 to 50 lbs.
- Ability to understand and apply ISO work instructions and standard operating practices.
