About the role#
CMC offers an internship for students to learn about steel making, construction reinforcement, and ground stabilization. You will gain exposure to multiple departments and work on real-world projects. This role provides training and support while you contribute to manufacturing processes and equipment maintenance.
What you'll do#
- Create and maintain electrical drawings and schematics.
- Participate in safety programs and uphold the company safety culture.
- Rotate through different job roles within the department to understand steel making processes.
- Work cross-functionally to improve manufacturing and department processes.
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams on capital projects and equipment commissioning.
- Complete special projects and provide analysis or improvement recommendations as assigned.
- Plan, coordinate, and communicate with peers and supervisors daily.
- Attend team meetings and activities.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently with moderate direction and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- PLC troubleshooting experience is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in extreme heat.
