About the role#
The Cleveland Clinic Innovations Venture team builds and invests in companies spun out of the health system and external partners. This fellowship provides an early-career professional with experience in sourcing, diligence, deal structuring, and building companies based on clinical and scientific insights. You will work within the Innovations-Research Innov and Educ department.
What you'll do#
- Support diligence on live deals and new venture formation across therapeutics, medtech, and digital health.
- Conduct clinical, scientific, technical, and commercial analysis to answer team questions.
- Write disease-area and technology overviews, map competitive landscapes, and track relevant trials and product pipelines.
- Analyze clinical and technical datasets, including efficacy, safety, trial design, patient populations, and reimbursement.
- Create PowerPoint presentations, charts, and investment committee materials.
- Track company finances, clinical data, and regulatory developments.
- Prepare for calls with clinicians, founders, and advisors by building question lists and summarizing takeaways.
- Assist with early-stage venture formation by scoping markets and competitive landscapes.
- Research, compile, and analyze data for administrative and departmental projects.
- Prepare reports and draft policies or procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college program.
- Ability to weigh pros and cons and separate critical issues.
- Capacity to make definitive choices, express opinions, and explain the logic behind your decisions.
- Preferred: Candidates pursuing an MS, MBA, PhD, or MD with an interest in life sciences, medtech, or digital health investing.
