About the role#
Claire's is looking for a curious student to join our Buying team for the Summer 2027 term. This internship provides hands-on experience in retail merchandising and shows how products move from initial ideas to the customer. You will work alongside our teams to identify trends, develop assortments, and evaluate product performance.
What you'll do#
- Support the Buying team with daily product and assortment activities.
- Review sales data and product performance to spot trends and opportunities.
- Conduct competitive, market, and trend research.
- Assist with preparations for assortment reviews and merchandising meetings.
- Learn how buyers make decisions regarding product, pricing, and inventory.
- Partner with Planning, Design, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams.
- Support special projects and business priorities.
- Gain exposure to the end-to-end retail merchandising process.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Retail, Business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
- An interest in retail, fashion, accessories, trends, and consumer products.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Comfort working with data and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- A curious, proactive, and eager approach to learning.
- Ability to work in an environment where priorities evolve.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later is preferred.
