About the role#
The City of Lawrence is hiring an Information Technology Intern to assist our department with daily technical operations. This is a part-time, non-benefited position offering 15 to 20 hours of work per week. You will work on-site during normal business hours, with a flexible schedule to accommodate your needs. This role is a chance to gain hands-on experience with city hardware and software systems.
What you'll do#
- Perform basic troubleshooting for technical issues.
- Install and configure new PCs, printers, and other related hardware.
- Manage software installations across city systems.
- Assist with various technology-related tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- You are currently seeking a career in information technology.
- You have some technical training or prior hands-on experience with computers and software.
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You hold a valid driver's license and can pass a background check.
- You are comfortable operating a City vehicle.
- You are organized, detail-oriented, and maintain a positive, safety-focused mindset.
- You have strong interpersonal skills for working with staff.
