About the role#
As an Engineering Intern for Automation & Robotics, you will join the Gear Up Early Career Program. You will work on projects that support the manufacturing and repair of aerospace components. This role provides exposure to collaborative robots, machine vision, and industrial controls within an FAA Repair Station environment. You will work alongside experienced engineers, maintenance staff, and operations teams to improve manufacturing processes.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the integration and testing of collaborative robots and automated marking equipment.
- Support the development and documentation of repair processes for turbine, compressor, and combustor components.
- Track process metrics and KPIs to monitor manufacturing performance.
- Prepare technical reports, procedures, specifications, and presentations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Help troubleshoot production issues and support root cause analysis.
- Present project findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering.
- Strong academic standing.
- Interest in industrial automation and robotics.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
