About the role#
This internship offers experience in behavioral health within a primary care setting in Belleville, Illinois. You will gain insight into the delivery of whole-person care while working toward your degree.
What you'll do#
- Help facilitate integrated primary and behavioral health care.
- Respond to patient inquiries.
- Assist patients in understanding care processes and the financial aspects of behavioral health.
- Connect patients to necessary resources.
- Screen clients for social determinants of health and provide service referrals.
- Facilitate communication between patients, their families, and care providers.
- Manage follow-up visits to ensure the continuation of care.
- Arrange for language interpretation services when needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Community Health Program.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and experience with an electronic medical record.
