About the role#
Charter Manufacturing offers a hands-on internship at Charter Steel for students interested in the steel industry. This role focuses on continuous improvement, quality systems, and operational excellence. You will work with cross-functional teams to solve real-world manufacturing challenges.
What you'll do#
- Support rolling mill projects that aim to improve production, quality, and maintenance processes.
- Drive improvement efforts through data collection, process trials, analysis, and standardization.
- Work alongside team members while taking ownership of your own improvement projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Engineering or a related field.
- Current standing of at least a sophomore level with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and succeed in a team environment.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment and AutoCAD skills are preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship located on-site in Cleveland, Ohio.
- The term runs for the Summer 2027 season, beginning in May 2027.
- This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
