About the role#
The Philanthropy Operations and Services Intern provides administrative and gift-processing support to the Foundation team. This temporary role assists with the transition to third-party caging and lockbox services. You will handle incoming philanthropic mail, document imaging, and database maintenance to support gift processing and donor stewardship.
What you'll do#
- Receive, open, date, sort, and distribute incoming Foundation mail.
- Identify checks, donor correspondence, planned giving documents, and event gifts.
- Scan and image gift documentation, ensuring materials are legible and linked to correct workflows.
- Handle donor information and financial documents with strict confidentiality.
- Support day-to-day operations, perform research, and assist with reports and communications.
- Observe existing processes and suggest improvements.
- Assist with special projects and participate in Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate degree program.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, and internet applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical, prioritizing, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to build professional relationships with business partners.
- Capacity to work both independently and within a team.
- Self-motivation with high attention to detail and deadlines.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Completion of all position-specific competency requirements.
