About the role#
This Student Extern position offers medical students supervised clinical exposure in internal medicine. You will work within established departmental protocols to support patient care. This role is unpaid and supports your formal educational program.
What you'll do#
- Perform wellness visits, physical exams, and chronic condition management tasks.
- Participate in integrated care team activities, including patient screenings.
- Demonstrate professionalism and a commitment to quality care.
- Work under minimal direction while following established protocols.
What you'll need#
- Selection for the Kansas City University School of Osteopathic Medicine Internal Medicine Clerkship.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Submission of a written attestation confirming no felony record.
- Completion of all onboarding requirements and documentation.
- Enrollment in a program such as Nursing, Public Health, Health Administration, or Biomedical Sciences.
Location & details#
- The rotation takes place from October 12 to November 8, 2026.
- Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST.
- This role is based in Kansas City, Missouri, with a hybrid work modality.
- Remote work requires a dedicated space and a minimum internet connection of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed.
- Occasional travel to offices for training or meetings may be required.
