About the role#
This 16-month internship offers an opportunity to work within our Corporate Supply Chain team. You will develop practical business practices, enhance your analytical skills, and gain experience in project management while interacting with global teams and suppliers. You will work in a professional office environment, balancing independent tasks with team collaboration.
What you'll do#
- Research suppliers at the commodity level and track pricing trends.
- Create reports and presentations using Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Run TCOO analysis and negotiate quote tenders with suppliers to establish costs.
- Consolidate, analyze, and report on performance metrics and commitments.
- Support site SCM buying teams during product shortages or supplier performance issues.
- Assist customers in resolving quality, serviceability, and performance issues.
- Develop and maintain business processes while gaining exposure to SAP and internal databases.
- Collaborate with business and IT teams to maintain or develop new applications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Business Administration program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including pivot tables, vlookup, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work extended hours based on customer requirements.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing, procurement, or electronics industry is considered an asset.
- Successful completion of a security assessment per the Canadian Government's Controlled Goods Program is required.
