About the role#
The HealthTech Engineering Associate Intern supports the Value Engineering team within our HealthTech division. You will gain exposure to product design, component selection, and supply chain data analysis. This role involves working under supervision to review component parameters, support verification testing, and create documentation that justifies design choices. You will work alongside internal teams and external partners to evaluate medical device technologies.
What you'll do#
- Collect and analyze information for the Value Engineering team.
- Interface with internal and external supply chains to prioritize components for investigation.
- Review design documentation to understand design intent.
- Support testing of components and end units for verification purposes through documentation.
- Provide comparison data and create tables to justify new component selections.
- Generate proposals and 4UP charts.
- Evaluate medical device technologies by interacting with industry stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a university or college internship program, completing the 3rd year of a 4-year degree in Electrical, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to interface with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience managing, organizing, and securely sharing collaborative files.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, stay organized, and manage time effectively.
- Adaptability and a strong desire to learn new technologies.
Location & details#
- This is a remote position based in Canada.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- This role is subject to the Canadian Government's Controlled Goods Program, requiring a successful security assessment.
