About the role#
As a Design Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the planning, simulation, verification, and troubleshooting of digital PCB designs. You will work alongside experienced engineers to research system ideas and support the development of electrical systems from early design phases through to manufacturing. This role requires collaboration with global, cross-functional teams including manufacturing, industrial design, and project leadership.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the development of electrical systems, including system architectures, schematics, and Bills of Materials.
- Perform signal integrity and power integrity simulations to evaluate design trade-offs.
- Support system validation and characterization by assisting with lab testing of high-speed digital interfaces.
- Help execute physical layer compliance testing to ensure designs meet industry standards.
- Participate in design reviews to incorporate feedback from stakeholders and vendors.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, such as test reports and analysis summaries.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Must be in your third year of study.
- Foundational knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, and high-speed digital PCB design principles.
- Familiarity with or a strong desire to learn industry-standard SI/PI simulation software.
- Basic understanding of high-frequency lab measurement equipment.
- Introductory knowledge of high-speed compliance standards.
- Experience with numerical computing environments like MATLAB.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
