About the role#
We are looking for an intern to cover the North Texas food scene and local cultural events. You will help our team track breaking news, viral trends, and local happenings. Your work will inform our audience about restaurant openings, food business, and events across the region.
What you'll do#
- Write accurate stories on local food and event topics.
- Use social media to find story ideas and engage with our audience.
- Build content using SEO best practices, tags, links, and multimedia.
- Collaborate with editors to develop coverage for a digital audience.
- Assist with video and audio journalism projects.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or English.
- Strong news judgment, speed, and grammatical precision.
- Experience using social media for newsgathering.
- Proficiency with digital content management and newsroom tools.
- Knowledge of SEO techniques and digital news analytics.
- Ability to work remotely using a smartphone or laptop.
- Valid driver's license and a registered vehicle to travel to assignments.
