About the role#
As a Threat Detection and Response Intern, you will join our team for an 11-week summer program. This is a technical role where you will build tools to protect our systems from cyber threats. You will work on the detection and response lifecycle to keep our employees and customers safe. This is a full-time position where you will gain hands-on experience in a cloud-first environment.
What you'll do#
- Build tools and techniques to detect threats to the company.
- Use AI and automation to streamline detection and response operations.
- Onboard, normalize, and optimize security logging data.
- Develop high-fidelity, rule-based, and ML-driven detections as code.
- Track emerging threats to deploy appropriate detective and preventative controls.
- Partner with development teams to design security controls for cloud infrastructure.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Eligibility to complete a full-time internship.
- Experience in at least one programming language such as Python or Go.
- Familiarity with tactics, techniques, and procedures used by threat actors.
- A desire to learn about data pipelines, data engineering, and cloud technologies like AWS and Kubernetes.
- Interest in measuring work success using quantitative tools like Precision and Recall.
- Strong communication skills and a desire to work as part of a team.

- Location: Boston, Massachusetts.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June through August).
- Work Modality: Hybrid (approximately three days per week in the office).
- Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours per week).
