About the role#
As a Data Governance Engineer Intern, you will work on small-scale implementations to maintain and enhance data governance frameworks. You will collaborate with data architects, engineers, analysts, and business teams to support data integrity, security, and accessibility. This is an 11-week, full-time internship program running from June through August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Establish processes for data quality monitoring and reporting to ensure data accuracy.
- Support, implement, and maintain metadata repositories.
- Develop and maintain data lineage models.
- Provide input on the data governance framework to meet business and regulatory needs.
- Create and maintain documentation for governance processes and policies.
- Build automated workflows by leveraging APIs from various tools and databases.
- Learn to apply data governance policies within the organization.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
- Eligibility to complete a full-time internship.
- Interest in Python or similar languages.
- Interest in data quality management tools and data governance tools.
- Familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, and Looker.
- Interest in data modeling, data lineage, and data classification.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality data.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Boston, Massachusetts.
- The position follows a hybrid work model, requiring presence in the office approximately three days per week.
- This is a paid, full-time internship at 40 hours per week.
