About the role#
As a Transportation Intern, you will work with the Corporate Transportation team to manage supply chain operations. You will gain hands-on experience by scheduling shipments, interacting with freight carriers, and participating in daily logistics meetings to understand how the department functions.
What you'll do#
- Partner with the Transportation team to ensure the accurate and timely shipment of customer orders.
- Communicate daily shipping schedules to operations leadership and identify at-risk orders.
- Coordinate last-minute shipping requests and schedule pickups with the distribution team.
- Generate and maintain documentation and instructions for customer orders.
- Monitor shipments and customer responses to routing requests using reporting tools to track performance.
- Collaborate on logistics initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Follow all safety and quality policies and procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Availability to work 30 to 40 hours per week from May through August 2027.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Housing in or near St. Louis, Missouri for the duration of the summer.
