About the role#
Capilano University is looking for Student Peer Mentors to support students in the Education and Employment Access Program. Mentors help peers build confidence and work toward their academic, personal, and career goals. This role is ideal for students in Psychology, Sociology, Communications, Human Resources, or Public Health.
What you'll do#
- Meet with students weekly to build rapport and a supportive relationship.
- Help students navigate campus services and solve problems that impact their success.
- Attend a four-hour orientation and training session in September.
- Participate in monthly one-hour meetings.
- Maintain records and communicate concerns to your faculty supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment at Capilano University with a minimum of 6 credits for domestic students or 9 credits for international students during the fall and winter terms.
- Good academic standing with a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to communicate openly with young adults.
- A sincere interest in mentorship based on respect.

- Location: North Vancouver, British Columbia.
- Term: Fall 2026 through Winter 2027 (September 4, 2026, to April 30, 2027).
- Modality: On-site.
- This is a paid, part-time, casual position.
