About the role#
The Department of Athletics and Recreation is hiring a Student Alumni Relations and Events Assistant. You will help develop and promote activities for CapU Blues and CapUrec alumni to increase engagement with our varsity teams. You will work under the guidance of the Sport Information Athletic Events, Media, and Sports Development Officer.
What you'll do#
- Connect with alumni and coordinate with internal and external partners to manage prospective participants.
- Develop and carry out events for CapU Blues alumni.
- Create promotional materials including posters, flyers, brochures, and advertisements.
- Manage social media accounts and maintain the Campus Recreation and Active Health photo library.
- Represent the Department of Athletics and Recreation.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current Capilano University student pursuing a diploma or bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, or a related program.
- You need to maintain good academic standing with a GPA of at least 2.0.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential.
- You must be proficient with computers and have experience managing social media.
- Ability to create program plans and promotional materials is required.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and photography skills are considered assets.
Location & details#
- This role is located on-site in North Vancouver, British Columbia.
- This is a paid, part-time, casual position.
- The term runs from Fall 2026 through Winter 2027, specifically from September 17, 2026, to April 9, 2027.
