About the role#
This internship provides experience in clinical mental health services. You will work with clients to address their specific needs while gaining exposure to the daily operations of a behavioral health provider. This is an unpaid position intended for academic credit.
What you'll do#
- Assist with individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
- Support substance abuse treatment programs.
- Participate in client assessments and care planning.
- Handle case documentation.
- Complete academic goals set by your university and site supervisor.
- Attend a mandatory 40-hour orientation and training session.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program for Social Work at an accredited institution.
- Good academic standing.
- A minimum commitment of 100 hours.
- An established contract between your university and the site.
- A valid driver's license and a minimum age of 18.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Maturity, self-motivation, and the ability to work with diverse families.
- Professional or clinical attire for the workplace.
