About the role#
Canopy Children's Solutions is seeking an intern for the Winter 2027 term. This position supports campus-based programs through therapeutic recreation, event coordination, and volunteer services. This is an unpaid internship intended for academic credit.
What you'll do#
- Support individualized and group therapeutic recreation sessions.
- Assist with event and volunteer services for campus-based programs.
- Plan, organize, and facilitate intramural, recreational, and leisure time activities for youth.
- Integrate into the program team to help children and families.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Education, Recreation, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Marriage & Family Counseling, or a related field.
- Good academic standing at an accredited institution.
- A contract established with your academic institution.
- Excellent oral and written presentation skills.
- Maturity and self-motivation.
- Comfort working with families with diverse needs.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Commitment to a minimum of 100 hours.
- Completion of all goals outlined by your university and site supervisor.
- Attendance at a mandatory 40-hour orientation and training session.
