About the role#
This internship provides practical experience in mental health services within a clinical setting. You will work directly with families and children to support their behavioral health and social service needs. This is an unpaid position intended for academic credit.
What you'll do#
- Assist with individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
- Support substance abuse treatment programs.
- Gain experience with clinical interventions, assessments, and treatment planning.
- Manage case documentation.
- Complete academic goals as defined by your university and site supervisor.
- Attend a mandatory 40-hour orientation and training session.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program for Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Marriage & Family Counseling, or a related field.
- Good academic standing at an accredited institution.
- An established contract between your school and our organization.
- A minimum 100-hour commitment.
- Maturity, self-motivation, and strong oral and written communication skills.
- Comfort working with families from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- A valid driver's license.
- Willingness to wear business professional or clinical attire.
