About the role#
The Director of the Multicultural Student Center & Urban Leadership Learning Community reports to the Assistant Vice President for Student Success. This role oversees the Multicultural Student Center, supervises the Center for International Education, and directs the Urban Leadership Learning Community. The position focuses on fostering inclusive excellence and supporting the academic and personal success of underrepresented student populations, including African American, Latin American, Asian American, and Native American students.
What you'll do#
- Oversee the Multicultural Student Center and supervise the Center for International Education.
- Develop workshops, trainings, and opportunities to foster inclusive learning environments.
- Engage in assessment activities by developing, monitoring, and evaluating programs.
- Nurture the leadership development of underrepresented students.
- Serve as a liaison to undergraduate and graduate admissions counselors to support targeted enrollment strategies.
- Collaborate with campus stakeholders to formalize mentoring and advocacy processes for underrepresented groups.
- Manage strategic planning, budgeting, and staffing objectives.
- Coordinate award committees and assist in raising funding for endowed scholarships.
- Provide leadership for the Urban Leadership Learning Community coordinator and program initiatives.
What you'll need#
- A Master’s degree is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an administrator in higher education or a related field.
- Relevant experience in Student Affairs, Counseling, Education, or related fields.
- Evidence of supervising professional and support staff.
- Knowledge of multiculturalism, diversity, and underrepresented student populations.
- Proficiency in collegiate writing, communication, and computer skills.
- Ability to build relationships with a wide range of constituencies.
- Flexibility for evening and weekend hours as required.

- Compensation: $65,000 to $70,000 annual salary.
