About the role#
As a Government Relations Student, you will join the team at our head office in Calgary. This role supports our efforts to engage and advocate on regulatory and public policy issues. You will work alongside our staff to ensure government relations deliverables are completed. This is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Research and review public policy, legislative, and regulatory issues that impact our operations.
- Identify and evaluate advocacy and engagement opportunities that align with our government relations strategy.
- Collaborate with the internal regulatory team to highlight relevant policy initiatives.
- Prepare memos, briefing notes, and other materials to support advocacy efforts.
- Develop presentation materials and documents to assist the team.
- Maintain and update government relations files.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program focused on Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, or Public Health.
- Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- A genuine interest in public policy and current events.
- Professional judgment and the ability to work well with others.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
Location & details#
- Location: Calgary, Alberta.
- Term: 4 months, starting in May 2027.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.
- Modality: This is an on-site position.
