About the role#
BWXT is seeking a Talent Acquisition Intern for the summer of 2027. This role offers the chance to learn full lifecycle recruiting within a national security manufacturing environment. You will gain experience across the entire process, including sourcing, candidate care, and onboarding. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Partner with recruiters to support hiring for skilled craft, professional, and engineering roles.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for candidates throughout the interview and onboarding process.
- Coordinate phone screens, on-site interviews, travel arrangements, and expense reimbursements.
- Manage pre-employment testing through our applicant tracking system.
- Shadow recruiters on sourcing calls and learn to use Boolean search and talent pipelining techniques.
- Organize recruiting metrics such as time to fill and pipeline health to support hiring manager decisions.
- Collaborate with the broader Talent Acquisition team, site HR partners, and hiring managers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or Communications.
- Status as a rising junior, senior, or graduate student.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Analytical skills and comfort working with data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems or HRIS platforms.
- Prior internship, campus leadership, customer service, or recruiting-adjacent experience.
- Working knowledge of US employment law fundamentals, including EEO, OFCCP, and FLSA.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a DOE clearance.

- This position is based on-site with hybrid potential.
- Preferred location is Lynchburg, Virginia, with potential consideration for candidates near Barberton, Ohio; Oak Ridge, Tennessee; or Euclid, Ohio.
