The Mechanical Engineering Intern role at BW Water provides hands-on experience within EPC project execution. This entry-level position focuses on foundational technical development, mentorship, and support for daily engineering project activities. No prior professional experience is required.
What you'll do#
- Support the engineering team with the preparation, organization, and review of technical documentation and basic calculations.
- Develop and maintain project lists, including Valve, Instrument, Piping Line, and Equipment lists, as well as the Master Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Assist in the preparation of material purchasing specifications, compliance lists, and Request for Quotation (RFQ) documents.
- Prepare document and drawing submittal cover sheets and technical data packages.
- Perform supervised engineering calculations, such as fluid flow rates, pipe fluid velocity, and pressure rating checks.
- Review drawings and documents for consistency and completeness.
- Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for reporting, tracking, and documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a high school student or a college/university student in Mechanical Engineering.
- A strong interest in engineering and a willingness to learn.
- A basic understanding of physics, mathematics, and engineering principles.
- Ability to work under supervision and follow established quality standards.
