About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within our Mount Olive food manufacturing plant. You will spend 10 to 12 weeks working with our maintenance team to support mechanical systems and equipment. The program focuses on professional development and building leadership skills through assignments that align with your interests in the manufacturing industry.
What you'll do#
- Master the operation of food production equipment.
- Collaborate with teams to optimize plant processes.
- Follow all quality, safety, and sanitation standards and policies.
- Develop leadership skills by communicating across all levels of the organization.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelors, Master, or PhD in Agri-Business, Animal Science, Food Science, Meat Science, Ag Leadership, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- A valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Demonstrated involvement in extracurricular activities and on-campus organizations.
- Previous work experience of any kind is preferred.

- Location: Mount Olive, North Carolina.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: This is a full-time, on-site position.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Physical requirements: You must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds. The role involves working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and the requirement to wear personal protective equipment.
