About the role#
The Electrical Engineer Intern will support daily engineering tasks, product development, testing, and process improvements. This role is designed for a student eager to apply classroom knowledge to real-world residential ventilation products while developing practical technical skills in a professional manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist with product development, technical research, testing, and engineering documentation.
- Support concept generation, design evaluations, and prototype development.
- Participate in product testing, validation, and performance assessments.
- Conduct competitive product reviews and technical analyses.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and project updates.
- Collaborate with engineering team members and cross-functional partners to support project goals.
- Assist with reviewing engineering drawings and implementing revisions.
- Support Engineering Change Notification (ECN) processes and documentation workflows.
- Attend project meetings, document key takeaways, and follow up on action items.
- Contribute ideas to improve product performance and engineering processes.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Coursework in circuit theory, embedded systems, software design, or related technical subjects.
- Basic understanding of mechanical devices and electromechanical components.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret technical requirements and apply them to engineering solutions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, stay organized, and meet deadlines.
- Previous internship, co-op, project, or laboratory experience is preferred.
- Experience with product testing, prototyping, or engineering design projects is a plus.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Location & details#
- Location: Hartford, Wisconsin.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 1, 2027, to August 20, 2027).
- Work Modality: Hybrid (Monday through Thursday in person, Friday remote).
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
