About the role#
Branch is hiring a Heavy Civil Construction Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This full-time, on-site position in Roanoke, Virginia, is designed for students pursuing a career in the construction industry. You will work alongside our Preconstruction, Project Management, and Field Supervision teams to gain practical experience while receiving mentorship and support.
What you'll do#
- Interact directly with subcontractors, vendors, and owners.
- Assist with cost planning, scheduling, and materials procurement.
- Support cost control and quality management efforts.
- Follow all safety and security procedures while determining appropriate action steps.
- Prepare a final presentation at the end of the program to outline your experience at Branch.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college degree program for Building Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A professional and courteous attitude when working with co-workers and the public.
- A valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- A drive to make a difference in your work.

- Location: Roanoke, Virginia.
- Schedule: Full-time, typically 40+ hours per week.
- Travel: Periodic travel to job sites and offices is required.
