About the role#
Branch is hiring a Heavy Civil Construction Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This full-time program provides a structured environment where you will gain practical experience in the construction industry. You will work alongside our Preconstruction, Project Management, and Field Supervision teams while receiving ongoing support and mentorship.
What you'll do#
- Support the daily operations of project management and field supervision teams.
- Interact with subcontractors, vendors, and owners.
- Assist with cost planning, scheduling, and materials procurement.
- Help manage project costs and quality control.
- Follow all safety and security procedures.
- Prepare a final presentation at the end of the program to summarize your experience.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Building Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Status as a rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A professional and courteous attitude.
- A valid driver license with a good driving record.
- A determined approach to your work.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Richmond, Virginia.
- This is an on-site, full-time position requiring 40+ hours per week.
- Travel to job sites and offices is required.
