About the role#
Branch is hiring for a Commercial Construction Intern for Summer 2027. This full-time, on-site role in Richmond, Virginia, offers students practical experience across preconstruction, project management, and field supervision. You will work alongside our teams to gain a clear understanding of daily operations in the construction industry.
What you'll do#
- Take on active responsibilities within preconstruction, project management, or field supervision teams.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and owners.
- Assist with cost planning, scheduling, and materials procurement.
- Support cost control and quality management efforts.
- Follow all safety and security procedures on-site.
- Prepare a final presentation summarizing your experience at the end of the program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Building Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Status as a rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
- Strong analytical and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A courteous and professional attitude.
- A valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Determination to learn and contribute to project goals.

- Schedule: Full-time (40+ hours per week).
- Travel: Periodic travel to job sites and offices is required.
