About the role#
As a software engineering intern at Branch International, you will work closely with experienced engineers for a period of 4-6 months. You will contribute to our products and codebase while gaining practical experience in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. We value bottom-up innovation and empower team members to propose solutions to complex challenges.
What you'll do#
- Brainstorm, design, code, debug, and ship features that serve millions of customers.
- Build functionality for new and existing product lines, including credit, payments, KYC, and data platforms.
- Integrate with third-party systems such as payment providers, identity services, and messaging platforms.
- Make significant contributions to the product and the underlying codebase.
What you'll need#
- Experience building applications beyond toy projects, such as real-world applications or open-source contributions.
- A solid foundation in computer science fundamentals, including distributed systems and data storage.
- Proficiency in at least one mainstream programming language, such as Python, Ruby, Java, or Kotlin.
- Familiarity with Unix environments and command-line utilities.
- Strong communication skills and an entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to take initiative and collaborate effectively within a team.
