About the role#
As a Real Estate Appraisal Intern with the Valuations team at BPM LLP, you will gain hands-on experience supporting commercial real estate and business valuation engagements. You will work alongside experienced professionals on tasks related to gift and estate planning, financial reporting, and transaction-related advisory matters. This role provides exposure to both commercial real estate and business valuation disciplines through integrated, cross-functional projects.
What you'll do#
- Research and analyze market data, including comparable sales, lease comparables, and broader market trends.
- Contribute to valuation analyses by performing lease reviews and financial modeling using income, cost, and sales comparison approaches.
- Assist in the preparation of commercial real estate appraisal reports and business valuation reports to ensure client-ready deliverables.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including tax, audit, and transaction advisory, to support integrated client solutions.
- Manage multiple concurrent assignments while maintaining attention to detail and meeting project deadlines.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to synthesize and interpret market data, financial information, and valuation inputs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
- Prior internship experience or completed coursework in real estate finance, valuation, financial modeling, or market analysis is preferred.

- Commitment: Full-time.
- Compensation: $28 per hour.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with periodic in-office collaboration typically required 1 to 2 days per week.
