About the role#
This internship supports the Active Implantable Systems group at Boston Scientific. You will work with engineers to design and develop products that treat heart rhythms and heart failure. This role focuses on software and test system operations within a regulated engineering environment.
What you'll do#
- Support daily software and test system operations, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and updates.
- Assist in identifying and implementing improvements to existing test systems, tools, and processes.
- Modify existing code, develop utilities, and improve overall test efficiency.
- Investigate technical issues involving software, hardware, and system integration.
- Explore ways to use AI tools to improve engineering productivity and automation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product development projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
- Familiarity with Python, C++, C#, Java, or Kotlin.
- Experience with software development tools, git, AWS, and CI/CD workflows.
- Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools like GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT.
- Basic understanding of software testing concepts or automated testing frameworks.
- Experience with Windows, Linux, or Android environments.
- Interest in medical device development.

- Location: Arden Hills, Minnesota.
- Term: Summer 2027 (12 weeks).
- Start dates: May 17 or May 24, 2027.
- Modality: On-site (at least four days per week).
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
- Requirements: Must have reliable transportation. No visa sponsorship is provided for this position.
