About the role#
Bolton & Menk is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 season. This role is based in our Mankato, Minnesota office. You will work with our Transportation service group to support community infrastructure projects. This is a paid, full-time internship that requires on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
- Assist with design and planning tasks for transportation projects.
- Prepare reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Perform construction observation, administration, and staking duties.
- Conduct roadway and intersection design layouts.
- Handle traffic counting and design calculations.
- Review shop drawings as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Civil Engineering or closely related degree program.
- Sophomore standing or above.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
- Completed coursework in general surveying and AutoCAD drafting.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to work in extended outdoor conditions and navigate rugged terrain.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- Compensation: $18.00 to $24.00 per hour based on experience and credentials.
