About the role#
This is a paid, full-time summer internship for students interested in railway infrastructure. You will work alongside experienced professionals on projects that maintain and improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of our railway system. This program serves as a pipeline for our Management Trainee Program, providing a direct path for potential employment after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Inspect, maintain, repair, and construct track infrastructure, including rails, ties, and ballast.
- Supervise and coordinate the maintenance, construction, and inspection of bridges and structures.
- Plan and schedule maintenance tasks while verifying the quality of completed work.
- Manage project finances, schedules, and communication with stakeholders.
- Shadow roles such as Supervisor Engineering Support, Assistant Roadmaster, and Manager of Structures to gain hands-on field experience.
- Work in a 24/7 environment, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Graduate degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a similar field.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Ability and willingness to relocate for the summer and travel up to 75% of the time.
- Access to reliable transportation for the duration of the internship.
- Ability to perform work outdoors in diverse weather conditions and navigate uneven surfaces.
